Anna Maria will guide students through building modern bouquets using a specific set of template shapes for which she will provide paper copies. So while there is no specific pattern to follow, she will present a diverse set of examples to inspire students to achieve a block, a mini quilt or the beginnings of a larger piece. Anna Maria will share several technique demos for machine applique, needle-turn applique and patchwork considerations for backgrounds and borders. This class breaks free of traditional block by block patchwork, yet still provides enough of a format to feel comfortable within that freedom.
Techniques taught:
-Fabric selection
-Improvisational Patchwork
-Needle turn applique by hand & raw applique by machine
-Curved bias strip preparation, applique
-Template demos for cutting and pressing
