Founded in 1921, the Janome Corporation earned its current-day name in the 1930s when founder Yosaku Ose, a pioneer in Japanese sewing manufacturing, began to use a round bobbin system instead of the traditional long shuttle. The Japanese thought the new round bobbin looked like a snake's eye (a janome), and from that innovative design, our new name was born. Janome is changing the way the world sews through our position as an industry leader in innovation. These innovations have increased reliability, enhanced sewing and embroidery techniques, and have allowed sewists to do more than ever before. Scandinavian Home Products AS (SHP) has been in the sewing machine business since 1994. The company was established with selling sewing machines in mind, based on the knowledge of the company founders. SHP has proven their strength by achieving good support in the market. The main focus is selling Janome sewing machine in the dealer business. To strengthen the company against competitors and to be more attractive for dealers, we are now presenting several strong marketing brands where all are linked to the creative business and enjoy of sewing. We operate in Denmark, Faro Island, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden through more than 150 dealers.
